Dark Visions
This pallet is suppose to represent the play overall. It has red to symbolize the violence and the blood that was scattered throughout much of the movie. It is orange to represent greed. Greed is usually orange color so orange represents the characters want for wealth and power. Black represents death in itself. Death is a wide spread concept in the book with much of the characters like Duncan and Macbeth dying at the start and end of the play. Purple represents secrets. The play was filled with mystique, intrigue and magic. Macbeth and his wife plotted and the witches prophesied and cast their magic spells. Yellow is pale and sickly representing insanity. Macbeth is overcome with regret and sorrow and so falls to insanity seeing visions of those he killed and talking to things that none else can see.
Envy of the Lord
This pallet represents Macbeth. It has red to symbolize his violence and those that he fought and killed throughout the play. Yellow again is used the symbolize his fall from sanity. It's sickly and pale instead of a warm vibrant tone showing how his mind state has fallen. Orange represents his want for power. His greed took over him and his greed was for power and so wanting for more of it, he goes and kills Duncan and takes over as the king of Scotland which granted more power then he had ever had before. Pink represents the magic that the witches used. They started the whole play by giving Macbeth the prophecy that he would become king planting the spark in his mind that he would and so he went out and did just that. Green represents how he turned from a man that his wife thought was too weak and not man enough into a murderous tyrant who killed his enemies. This green is mixed with yellow showing how his insanity got the best of him and changed him for the worst.
Jolly Man
This pallet represents Duncan. It's light green to show his mellowness and how he was a peaceful king. Sky blue to represent his kindness for he was a kind loved king of Scotland. Yellow to represent his friendly happiness and how he was a party socialite. Purple to represent the prophecy that surrounded him from the witches. Purple is mysterious and mystical and the prophecies surround his kingship. Pale blue to represent his peace. He was a peaceful king who only wanted to celebrate with his lords before he was murdered by Macbeth.
Crackling Mage
This pallet represents the witches' scene at the cauldron. Black represents death. The witches are surrounded by death because they signal death from the prophecies they tell and the magic they weave. Orange is to represent greed. The orange represents how the witches uses the greed and ambition of their victims to influence and control for their own desires. Pink is to represent lust. In this case its lust for power. Macbeth has been manipulated by the witches by using his lust for the power of the king. Purple is the mystery and magic of the witches like their prophecies and rituals. The greenish yellow represents insanity. The witches inflict madness onto those who follow their dark magic like Macbeth and his wife became insane with visions.
Bloody Demise
This pallet represents the end of the book with Macbeth's death. Black is the death of Macbeth and also all those who died because of him. Black represents dark omens and death which was a main focus of the play. Orange represents his greed for power and how he was filled with greed and murdered King Duncan. Red is for violence was was a predominant part of the end of the book with the siege of the castle. The dark maroon color is blood. The end to the play is a bloody affair with Macbeth's head being chopped off. Grey is to represent the end. Its the end for Macbeth and so its grey to represent the end of life which was mixed in his deeds and sins.
